"I am a single parent with an 8-year-old third grader who’s been struggling with focus and remaining calm in school since Kindergarten. Teachers have shared with me that other students who’ve had the same problems were able to bring their grades up by being placed on other alternative substances.
That was great to hear and all in the beginning, but then I was mortified after doing research on these ‘alternatives’ and hearing parents stories. It’s amazing how much you learn when you start sharing stories with other parents.
I would rather homeschool my son than to expose him to the risks associated with these potentially dangerous alternatives.
Going out in public with my son was also more of a job than enjoyment due to the consistent reminding him to consider others’ personal space, lowering his voice and not to run over anyone with the shopping cart (to name a few).
My last resort before becoming a hermit and homeschooling was trying HCF. I tried some other natural herbs and remedies for a few months and although they seemed to help in some areas, I was not satisfied with the results.
It took about a month of taking HCF before I started seeing better reports from school and about a month and a half when I started noticing my overly-hyper son had started to calm down significantly.†* He went from jumping from activity to activity and toy to toy, to actually writing his own musical notes for his toy guitar and following them as a performance for everyone.* Word searches are his latest interest.
A couple of months ago, the only thing that could keep him calm was video games and movies (I’m assuming it is because of all of the stuff going on in them were keeping his mind busy).
There have been a few days in which he did not receive his HCF dosage. A couple days were to see if they actually did make a difference and the others because he forgot to take them. Each of these days ended up with a very negative report from school.†* Therefore, I am afraid to have him go a day without HCF.
In addition to starting HCF, I took my son to see a natural health expert so the teachers would see that I was doing all I could to improve his school performance.* He also suggested to refrain from caffeine, artificial sugars, color and flavors.
Although my son is much calmer now, he still has somewhat of a hard time focusing in school. An HCF consultant reminded me that it usually takes about 90 days for the full effects to be noticed.†* We are soon approaching this time frame. I’m hopeful and excited to see what other interests my son gains once he reaches the full results. I also hope that others will not be afraid to share their stories with other parents and begin to look to these safer, natural alternatives rather than resorting to the temporary, potentially dangerous alternatives that are often used with unsafe long-term effects.*"
